Asus Zenfone C – Impressive budget smartphone

Asus has launched a new smartphone Zenfone C (ZC451CG) in India at an affordable price of Rs 5,999. It is a budget smartphone with lot to offer. It looks quite impressive to me. It can be the next big thing in smartphone market.

After launching its Asus ZenFone 5 (A501CG-2B509WWE) in January in India, Asus has now launched this smartphone. It was reportedly launched in Malaysia in January 2015. It is available on Flipkart for grabs and also available in Asus exclusive stores.

ASUS India launched the Zenfone series, the smartphone mastering technological innovation and design perfection in July 2014 and have received a thunderous response from the market. That’s why we are saying, it can be the next big thing in smartphone market.

The Asus ZenFone C (ZC451CG) is a dual-SIM supporting device running Android 4.4 KitKat OS with Zen UI out-of-the-box. It might be getting an Android 5.0 Lollipop update soon.

The Asus ZenFone C (ZC451CG) features a 4.5-inch FWVGA (480×854) display. The smartphone is powered by 1.2GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2520 processor with Hyper-Threading Technology (2 cores, 4 threads, and 1MB cache) and 1GB of RAM.

The smartphone also includes a 5MP ‘PixelMaster’ rear autofocus camera with flash and f/2.0 lens,along with a 0.3MP front facing camera with an f/2.8 aperture. Asus claims that, “PixelMaster’s low light mode employs pixel-merging technology to capture up to 400 per cent-brighter photos at night, or in low-light scenes, without the need for a flash.”

The Asus ZenFone C (ZC451CG) sports an 8GB of inbuilt storage which can be further expanded to 64GB via microSD card. The dual-SIM smartphone runs Android 4.4 KitKat OS with the Asus Zen UI atop. The phone packs in a 2100 mAh removable battery that is claimed to offer 30 hours of 3G talk time and over 10 days of standby. The smartphone’s audio is powered by Asus’ SonicMaster technology.

In other features, the device includes 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS, Glonass, and a micro USB connectivity port. The phone is available in three colours – red, white and black and weighs 149 grams.
